Custom 3D TPU Logo Patches for Apparel

Brief a raised TPU logo patch with artwork, profile, flex, placement, and attachment requirements.

Buyer perspective

A 3D TPU mark can give a logo a sculpted surface, but the artwork must work as a small physical object. Sharp internal corners, thin strokes, and tall relief should be reviewed at actual size. The most useful first decision is where the patch will live and how that panel moves.

Options

Choose the right dimensional effect

The visual request should describe a finished hand feel, not just a material label. Compare alternatives at the same physical size on the same garment before committing to a raised construction.

Raised TPU

Useful when a sculpted profile is central to the mark. Inspect the sidewall, tiny letter openings, and how the patch bends with the panel.

Flat transfer

A better comparison sample when low weight, low profile, or a very thin logo stroke matters more than tactile depth.

Stitched patch

Consider when a visible textile edge is part of the look or the garment placement favors sewing over a heat-applied mark.

Photograph all options at the intended viewing distance and handle each sample; the selected construction should win on the actual garment, not in a materials list.

What to decide

Build a brief that can be tested

  1. 1

    Design for depth

Supply vector outlines and identify which layers should rise above the base. Review side profile and edge transitions in a physical sample, not only a front view. Confirm whether fine counters in letters stay open at the target dimensions.

  2. 2

    Match movement

A logo on a flexible knit experiences different bending from one on a stable bag panel. Test the proposed attachment on the intended substrate and inspect it after stretching or folding relevant to use. Placement near a seam may change the result.

  3. 3

    Approve the tactile result

Record dimensions, color, relief profile, backing, and surface finish from the accepted sample. Use the sample to judge hand feel and edge quality; a digital color code cannot capture thickness or texture.
