Compare appearance at real size
Small lettering and narrow strokes can behave differently in thread and film. Request full-size samples and inspect them at normal viewing distance, not only on an enlarged proof.
Compare hand feel and attachment
Embroidery may require a sewn base or direct stitching, while heat transfers depend on garment and adhesive compatibility. Both methods can change comfort if placed inside a collar or against skin.
Decide by process control
Check wash behavior, rework options, color matching and the equipment available in the decorating line. Price comparisons are only meaningful when dimensions and production steps are equivalent.

Compare two methods on equal terms
Prepare the same logo at the same finished dimensions in both constructions and place each on identical garments. Inspect small lettering, edge quality and hand feel from normal viewing distance. For an inside-neck position, comfort and backing matter; for an outside hem mark, relief and placement may dominate. Test care behavior using the garment's planned instructions and document which method preserves the brand's essential details.
