Soft PVC, rubber, and flexible molded patch may be used loosely in product searches. They are not a substitute for a material statement on a specific quote. First decide what the patch must look and feel like on its receiving item, then confirm how that exact build is made and attached.
Approval gate
A buyer approves the front of a soft, raised badge for a backpack. The supplier then quotes a reverse that the bag maker cannot attach without opening a finished lining. Prevent that mismatch by making reverse and assembly access part of the first sample approval.
Check the finished-size silhouette, color boundaries, letter gaps, and high-low molded zones. Record the material statement for this precise proposal rather than relying on 'rubber' as a description.
Get a physical back view and written attachment recommendation. Ask the bag maker which panel stage and equipment can accept it, including any required stitching or adhesive layer.
Attach to the actual pack panel, then inspect edge contact, flex, visible reverse, and interference with pockets or straps. Mark the approved construction and placement together.

Provide finished width and height, outer silhouette, color zones, raised and recessed parts, and a side-view request. Give narrow text and isolated details particular attention at true size. Ask the maker to identify practical changes before tooling rather than promising that every render detail will reproduce.

Request the face material, edge form, and reverse construction in writing. Name the receiving substrate and available assembly access. A photographed soft patch cannot prove it is sewable, heat-applied, or suited to a coated bag.

Review a physical patch and an attachment trial on the actual garment or accessory. Look at perimeter contact, flex at the placement, relief readability, and any marks on the reverse. Keep color and backing variants under separate identifiers.
