Buyer perspective
A moulded emblem has a visible face and a separate route for attaching it to clothing. Calling it heat-seal does not specify the PVC formulation, backing, receiving fabric, or process required to make a durable finished item. Treat the emblem and its application as one approved construction.
What to decide
Decision lens 01
Provide artwork at final size and describe raised areas, recessed detail, color fields, and the desired outer shape. Review a physical sample for small lettering, edge regularity, and how the relief feels at the intended garment location. A rendering cannot show thickness or surface finish accurately.
Decision lens 02
Ask the maker to identify the proposed backing and the decorator to review the garment's material, surface treatment, seams, and press access. Trial the exact pairing. Do not infer application settings or suitability from another emblem's name or appearance.
Decision lens 03
Check the applied emblem for edge lift, distortion, or fabric change after the project's relevant care sequence. Record the sample and process used. If the garment blank or emblem backing changes, schedule a new test rather than transferring an old approval.
Approval gate
A moulded face can pass appearance review while the reverse remains unsuitable for the receiving garment. The approval sheet must identify both sides and the actual application trial before the heat-seal order is released.
Compare color, raised details, outer profile, and protected lettering with the accepted physical-size artwork.
Record backing identity and supplier instructions, then confirm the decorator can access the intended garment panel.
Inspect edge attachment, material response, and appearance after the agreed care exposure on the production fabric.
If the backing or blank changes, treat the old emblem approval as incomplete and request a new applied specimen.
