Buyer perspective
Spacing is a design decision as well as a production constraint. Stones that merge visually can blur lettering, while gaps that look clean on a screen may break a line when seen at garment scale. The useful review is a physical-size transfer on the intended fabric, not a zoomed pattern file.
What to decide
Identify the narrowest letters, corners, borders, and intentional negative spaces. Request a proof showing actual stone size, center positions, and finished motif dimensions. Inspect from the distance at which the decorated garment will normally be seen.
Use the target garment and proposed application process. Check whether stones retain their intended arrangement when the carrier is removed and the fabric is handled. Review alignment, missing stones, and areas close to seams or folds.
Keep a dated artwork version, stone specification as supplied, transfer dimensions, and an applied sample photograph. If the motif is resized, ask for a new spacing proof; scaling a graphic file does not automatically preserve a workable physical stone layout.
Specification
A layout file needs enough physical information to be checked after application. Record stone size and the coordinates or pattern reference supplied by the maker, then compare the finished transfer with its intended outline.
A revised size requires a new physical proof. Do not enlarge the layout file and assume its stone spacing remains suitable.
