A hotfix motif is often purchased as a small decoration, but its impact depends on placement. The same shape can read as a subtle pocket accent or a lost detail on a large sweatshirt. Decide where the customer will see it before choosing dimensions and stone density.
What to decide
Measure the panel after accounting for hems, seams, drawcords, zippers, and folds. For curved or narrow areas, consider whether the motif can lie flat during application. Put the measurement on the placement diagram instead of asking a sample maker to infer it from a photograph.
An isolated icon, repeated pattern, and headline graphic serve different purposes. A small accent needs a crisp silhouette; a large statement can carry more detail. Check a physical-size printout against the garment before committing to stones and color.
Place candidate motifs on the same blank and photograph them under similar light. Note stone color and artwork revision. This avoids selecting a design because one mockup was larger, brighter, or better staged.
Specification
The printable-looking area on a flat garment photo is often larger than the pressable, visible area on the finished item. Work from the real panel and include folds, nearby hardware, and how the item moves when worn.
Choose the motif from a measured placement mockup, not from the size of an isolated product image.
