A TPU heat-transfer label is not defined fully by its material name. Profile, color layering, edge, adhesive construction, and application surface determine the result. Buyers should request a garment-specific sample and a record of the accepted version.
Specification
Record the TPU label envelope
Small dimensional marks need more than a nominal width. Capture the visible face, relief, and attachment boundary as separate measurements on the approved sample.
- Face dimensions
- Measure the complete visible artwork including outermost raised areas; note orientation on the garment.
- Profile
- Record maximum relief and edge shape where they affect hand feel or nearby stitching.
- Attachment footprint
- Check that the backing or applied area fits the available flat panel without overlapping seams or folds.
Use the annotated sample to compare production pieces. A matching artwork file alone cannot prove the physical label matches.

Build a brief that can be tested
Map the application site
State fabric blend, finish, stretch, nearby seams, and exact placement. A smooth woven panel and a compressive knit need separate evaluation; a sample on one does not approve the other.
Record the test
Inspect edge contact, legibility, and appearance after the garment's expected care and handling. Keep application notes with the physical sample, while recognizing that equipment and fabric changes may require retesting.
