Keep a placement record by garment type
A label position that reads clearly on one garment may be hidden, uncomfortable, or difficult to attach on another. Build a simple garment-by-garment matrix instead of assigning one generic neck or hem location to an entire apparel range.

Build a brief that can be tested
01Identify the reader and surface
Decide whether the label is interior identification, visible branding, care information, or a size marker. Check the proposed spot while the garment is worn and stretched. Note skin contact, seam bulk, and nearby prints.
02Measure from stable landmarks
Record distance from neckline, side seam, hem, pocket, or another repeatable feature. Include orientation and the full label envelope. For several garment sizes, test whether one fixed placement still reads and feels right.
03Fit the assembly sequence
Ask when the label is applied relative to seams, lining, and finishing. Verify that the proposed method can reach the area without damaging the garment. Approve a representative attached sample with the required text at legible scale.
