Rhinestone belt buckles are most commonly produced on zinc alloy (zamak), brass, iron, or acrylic bases. Each material has different weight, finish options, plating compatibility, and durability characteristics. The base material must be confirmed before the stone layout and plating are specified.
Rhinestones on metal belt buckles are typically either prong-set (stones held by metal prongs formed around them), glued into pre-drilled or recessed settings, or channel-set (stones held in a continuous metal channel). The application method affects stone security, visual finish, and production cost.
Custom shapes require tooling — die-casting or stamping tooling cost is confirmed separately from production unit cost. Engraving or texture can be incorporated into the base design before rhinestone application. A complete design brief including base shape, finish, engraving if any, stone placement, and quantity is required before tooling cost is confirmed.
