Buyer perspective

A perspective rendering can suggest depth while hiding where a raised stroke begins and ends. Before asking for a silicone label sample, convert the logo into a flat, physical-size drawing that a maker and a buyer can interpret the same way. The goal is a controlled relief request, not a claim that every fine line can be manufactured.

Make a raised-logo file that can be measured

A brand sends a dramatic perspective image of a two-color silicone label. The highlighted letters look tall, yet no one can tell where the base stops or how narrow the inner gaps should be. Turn the image into an artwork packet that can be checked at finished size.

Flatten the geometry: Trace the true outer perimeter and print it at the proposed label width. Mark every text counter and open gap that must remain visible, not merely the shaded edge of the rendering.
Number the levels: Assign a base datum and separate symbols for raised, recessed, and unchanged zones. Add a side-view request at the busiest intersection so the maker can question impossible transitions before sampling.
Lock the revision: Give the editable file, color target, relief legend, and read-only preview the same revision identifier. The physical sample should be compared to that packet, not to a later emailed image.

If two reviewers draw different cross-sections from the same brief, the relief instructions are not ready.

Build a brief that can be tested

Studio study 01

Give every surface a name

Identify the background plane, raised features, recessed features, and areas that remain flat. Use a keyed cross-section for changes in height. Mark the outer edge separately from the internal relief so a decorative shadow in the mockup cannot become an unintended molded step.

Proof at actual scale

Print the label at the proposed width and height. Inspect narrow gaps, counters inside letters, and places where adjacent color and height boundaries meet. Ask the maker to flag details that will merge at that size rather than inventing a universal minimum line width.

Release one revision

Send editable artwork, a read-only visual, the relief legend, color references, and garment placement under one revision code. Label any optional surface texture as a separate request. Approve a physical sample and update the file if the geometry changes.
