Buyer perspective
T-shirts are a familiar canvas, which makes small specification errors easy to overlook. Neckline shape, fabric weight, and size grading change how the same transfer looks when worn. Approve the design on representative blanks rather than judging it only on a flat digital mockup.
Specification
Record placement by garment cut
A placement note such as centered on chest leaves too much interpretation. Capture stable measurements on at least the smallest and largest planned sizes.
- Horizontal center
- Measure from side seams or the garment centerline, noting any asymmetrical cut or pocket that changes visual balance.
- Vertical start
- Record the distance from the neckline or another stable point to the top of the motif, not only its center.
- Artwork envelope
- Record the complete width and height including outermost stones, then check how that envelope sits on every intended shirt cut.
Keep one annotated photo per approved cut and colorway. A design revision that changes its outer dimensions needs another placement review.

Set a placement rule
Measure from stable garment landmarks such as center front and neckline, while allowing for differences among sizes and cuts. If a design is sold in fitted and relaxed silhouettes, test both. The same fixed placement measurement may not look centered on each.

Check color and hand
View stone colors on every planned shirt color in normal light. A pale stone on white may produce a subtle look; the same design on black may dominate. Also check the fabric after pressing for visible marks or texture changes.

Inspect a finished sample
Check alignment while the shirt is worn or on a form, then test the care method you intend to communicate to customers. Record the blank style, design size, and application result as a single approved combination.
