Private-Label Accessory Program: Define Approval Ownership

Structure a private-label accessory program with brand assets, SKU-level samples, packaging proofs, and change control.

Buyer perspective

A private-label program is not just placing a logo on existing goods. Product design, customer-facing labeling, packaging, and reorder identity all need owners and approved references. The program becomes easier to scale when each item has its own specification under one shared brand system.

What to decide

Build a brief that can be tested

Workshop 01

Set fixed brand rules

Provide approved logo files, color references, naming, and placement priorities. Identify which elements may adapt to different materials. A raised patch and printed hangtag can share identity without using identical artwork dimensions.

Workshop 02

Approve each SKU

Inspect assembled samples and packaging proofs by item and colorway. Record construction, attachment, visible branding, packing unit, and any destination-market information requiring separate verification.

Workshop 03

Control changes

Keep a revision record for artwork, materials, and approved samples. Ask for a new review when a substrate, supplier process, or packaging component changes, even if the front photo appears similar.

Control brand details by sellable SKU

Private-label work can involve the visible logo, internal label, packaging, and product photography. Keep those decisions tied to each sellable SKU rather than approving a brand mark once and assuming it covers every item. The purpose is a traceable brief, not an implied promise about available services.

  • Assets

Identify the authorized logo files, colors, wording, and revision owner for each placement.

  • Product map

List which label, decoration, or package version belongs to each garment or accessory SKU.

  • Approval

Compare the completed sample against the SKU record and archive the accepted photo and specifications.

Request a current service-and-quote confirmation for every branded component before treating it as part of the order.
