A laser-cut patch combines a shaped base with a sparkling surface. The cut perimeter and the rhinestone layout need separate approval: a strong motif can still fail visually when the edge is too busy or the base color fights the garment. Use a physical sample to approve its appearance.

A narrow bridge that looked sound on screen

Consider a patch drawing whose laser-cut outline threads between two dense stone areas. The rendered preview makes the bridge look substantial, but the physical-size print shows very little base material. That bridge is a design decision, not a detail to leave to production.

Mark the weak span: Measure the narrowest base sections and identify any isolated tips. Ask the maker to evaluate the proposed cut path and material before promising that the shape can be built.
Compare two silhouettes: Print the original and a simplified outer shape at the quoted size. Keep the stone layout constant so the team can judge whether the complex edge actually improves the motif.
Close the case: On an applied sample, inspect the cut edge, the nearest stones, and the garment after normal handling. Save the exact accepted cut file with the sample code.

If the bridge proves fragile or visually invisible at scale, revise the perimeter before approving a repeatable patch specification.

Draw the complete footprint

Supply artwork at final width and height, including the outer fabric silhouette, internal cutouts, and all stones. Mark narrow bridges and sharp projections for feasibility review. Judge the shape at ordinary viewing distance before approving the cut path.

Place a physical-size outline on the actual garment. Note seams, stretch, prints, and whether the patch lies flat during application. Compare base color and stone contrast against each planned garment color, not only a white proof.

Confirm the exact reverse construction and current application instructions for the sample. Apply it to the intended fabric, then inspect perimeter, stone alignment, surrounding material, and care response. Keep the patch code and garment identifier together.
