Buyer perspective
A recessed or raised mark can look similar in a rendering while being made by very different steps. An embossed effect belongs to the receiving material; a raised patch is a separate component with an attachment interface. The garment or accessory construction should decide which route is practical.
Buying matrix
These two routes may both create dimension, but their manufacturing responsibilities differ. The comparison matrix should show what happens to the base material and which extra component, attachment step, or tooling proposal would be introduced.

Name the selected construction explicitly in the specification rather than ordering an ambiguous raised logo.
What to decide
Field folio 01
State the exact surface to be decorated and whether it can be processed before or after assembly. Note seams, lining, thickness, and access to the reverse. A sample made on a flat substitute is not proof that the finished item will show the same relief.
Field folio 02
Provide the same logo size, line weights, and color intention for both options. Examine edges, depth, fine lettering, and how the mark feels under handling. A raised component also needs a visible-edge and attachment review.
Field folio 03
Keep the approved material, sample, tooling or artwork revision where applicable, and placement drawing. Ask the producer to document any substrate limitations. Retest when the base material or assembly sequence changes.
