Patch suppliers are easiest to compare when they receive the same brief and face the same sample checkpoints. A low unit price can hide different artwork preparation, backing, inspection, or packing scope. Build the comparison around a specific patch and receiving garment.
Options
Send the same authorized artwork, dimensions, garment and order scope to every candidate. Use evidence from the resulting physical samples to compare what each supplier actually delivers.
Compare the smallest essential lettering, edge shape and color boundary at the intended finished size under the same light.
Attach each candidate patch to an identical garment and note backing, stitch path or other confirmed method.
Ask how the approved sample code, revision, quality checks and pack label will be used on a reorder.
Record missing scope as an unanswered question, not a score of zero. Requote before ranking prices if one supplier excluded sample or inspection work.
What to decide
Field note 01
Send authorized artwork, finished dimensions, color references, garment material, placement, quantity by version, and requested attachment. Ask each supplier to identify assumptions and construction options. Do not let different samples silently answer different questions.
Field note 02
Review a physical sample at normal distance and close range. Check edge quality, small lettering, color boundaries, reverse construction, and how the patch attaches to the actual garment. Record any deviations from the approved proof.
Field note 03
Ask how the sample, artwork revision, material statement, and pack identity will be retained for a reorder. Compare current minimum, setup, timing, inspection, and remedy terms in writing for the same scope.
