Two fabric patches with the same printed artwork can feel very different once base cloth, edge finish, backing, and garment are considered together. Compare candidate constructions on the receiving item rather than judging a cropped product photo.
Examine opacity, hand feel, and how the ground color reads against light and dark garments.

What to decide
Compare base fabric samples against the receiving garment for color, texture, and flexibility. A stiff foundation may be appropriate for a bag panel but uncomfortable on a soft knit. Review the patch while the garment bends.
Mark the intended finished outline on the artwork. Ask to see the perimeter at physical size, especially around pointed corners or narrow extensions. An edge that looks clean on a flat proof can catch or curl after handling.
Ask whether stitching, an adhesive layer, or an interchangeable fastener best fits the intended use. Check backing and garment placement as one system, then keep the applied sample as the reorder reference.
